What is it like to surf a 70-foot wave, or to be the guy running safety from a jet ski? To Stand-Up Paddle the 187-miles of the Grand Canyon? Or, to race from Molokai to Oahu across a channel reputed to be one of the most treacherous spans of ocean in the world? C4 Waterman Co-Founder and elite-level athlete Todd Bradley and Veteran Hawaiian Lifeguard and big wave surfer Archie Kalepa are true waterman to their core. At their REI C4 Waterman Presentation last night, they shared with un- bridled passion and enthusiasm many of these hair raising stories. And, with the same enthusiasm they shared the stoke they feel when teaching a beginner to SUP or catch their first wave. Archie and Todd live and breathe the cutting edge of being a waterman while respecting the roots and tradition of the sports, and are more than happy to share their skills and knowledge to bring more folks out to play on the water.
All that, AND they put out an open invitation to anyone coming to Oahu or Maui to paddle and surf with them “on your level” (not theirs!)
Awesome ambassadors for the sport of SUP and all things water-related...
Happy Paddling!
Heather, Brandon and Hayden
